I wanted to create a living room chair that would blend into its surroundings rather than dominate them. A chair that is beautiful to look at, comfortable to sit in, stable yet light, and made from natural materials.
“Cavalletta” is the result of this pursuit and reflects my philosophy of designing furniture that brings references from art and nature into people’s homes.
The name Cavalletta — Italian for “grasshopper” — comes from the shape of its legs, inspired by the insect’s perfect lines and joints that express energy, lightness, and strength.
The chair is made of oiled oak wood, with subtle decorative inserts of water-based color, reinforced with metal rods for stability, and finished with linen-covered cushions.
